Hire in Bahrain Without
a Local Entity
Bahrain is the most open and business-friendly economy in the GCC — home to a growing fintech sector, a liberalised labour market, and a strategic position as the gateway between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Atlass Partners acts as your Employer of Record in Bahrain, managing LMRA work permits, SIO contributions, payroll, and full Bahrain Labour Law compliance.
Bahrain's Labour Law No. 36 of 2012 governs employment. The LMRA (Labour Market Regulatory Authority) oversees work permits. With no personal income tax, the most flexible work permit regime in the GCC, and a highly educated workforce, Bahrain is an increasingly popular base for financial services and technology businesses.
Bahrain Employment Compliance — Fully Managed
◆
LMRA Work Permits
All expatriate employees in Bahrain require a work permit and residency permit issued by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). Atlass Partners manages the full LMRA application, renewal, and cancellation process for all EOR employees.
◆
SIO (Social Insurance)
Employer SIO contributions: 12% for Bahraini nationals; lower rates for non-Bahrainis covering occupational hazard insurance. Atlass Partners registers all employees with the Social Insurance Organisation and manages monthly contribution filings.
◆
End-of-Service Benefits
Under Bahrain Labour Law: 15 days' salary per year for the first 3 years of service; 1 month's salary per year thereafter. Calculated on last drawn basic salary. Atlass Partners accrues and administers EOSB throughout employment.
◆
Annual Leave & Benefits
Minimum 30 days paid annual leave per year after 1 year of service. Sick leave: 15 days full pay, 20 days half pay. Maternity leave: 60 days. 8 public holidays annually. Atlass Partners administers all statutory leave entitlements.
◆
Employment Contracts
Contracts must be written and bilingual (Arabic required). Notice periods: minimum 1 month for indefinite contracts. Atlass Partners issues Bahrain-compliant employment contracts for all EOR employees in accordance with Labour Law No. 36 of 2012.
◆
No Income Tax
Bahrain has no personal income tax on employment income. SIO contributions are the primary statutory deduction for Bahraini national employees. This makes Bahrain one of the simplest payroll environments in the GCC for international hires.
